Like an example would be with detectives and solving a crime. When it comes to those, there's always three elements: "Who dunnit", "How dunnit" and the "Why dunnit". A lot of mystery novels tend to focus on the "who" and the "how", but they always neglect the "why". I think the "why" is the most important part to any mystery than working the puzzle pieces to solve it.

Heh... If detectives didn't have any love in their hearts to understand their culprits, then they would be no better than intellectual rapists!
